I often hear my clients tell me that they don’t really like the taste of beans. In American cuisine, they are not as popular as in other countries. Something as simple as changing the texture of a bean can drastically change your feelings about them and make you a lover! That’s why you must try out this black bean dip.
Who doesn’t like snacking on chips? Add this flavorful and healthy black bean dip to improve the nutritional profile of this popular snack. All you need to make this recipe is one can of black beans, your favorite salsa (I chose mild since I can’t handle the heat), ground cumin and extra virgin olive oil. Puree all of the ingredients in your food processor until you get this creamy and flavorful dip!
Not only can I guarantee you’ll love this recipe, but you’ll also get the added health benefits of eating beans. Beans are a great source of fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals. Just 1/2 cup of black beans provides you with 110 calories, 7 grams of protein, and 8.5 grams of fiber (source). If you’re really going for the perfect healthy snack, swap out the multigrain chips for raw, crunchy vegetables like carrots, celery sticks or sliced radishes.
